Opera Academy

We seek six young singerswilling to commit to creating an opera together with our team of five faculty members, using music curated to their vocal strengths.

Available roles of the opera:

• Tamerlano, imperadore de’ Tartari
• Bajazet, imperadore de’ Turchi, prigione del Tamerlano
• Asteria, figlia di Bajazet, amante d’Andronico
• Irene, principessa di Trebisonda promessa sposa al Tamerlano
• Andronico, prencipe Greco, confederato del Tamerlano
• Leone, confidente d’Andronico

The decision regarding which role is assigned to which vocal category will be made based on the audition and the quality of the applications.

Selected singers will also have the opportunity to suggest arias for inclusion in the pasticcio opera. However, these pieces should preferably not be taken from Handel’s or Vivaldi’s most well-known operas.

The final auditions will take place on 22.09.25 in Karlsruhe at the campus of the University of Music.

The masterclasses with Anna Bonitatibus and the rehearsals will take place from February 22 to 26, 2026 in Karlsruhe.
